Saying Farewell to President Hinckley

Kyle and I had a few hours before our flight, so we headed down to temple square. We were on W. Temple street and you could hear the choir very clearly from the conference center singing "A Child's Prayer". A lot of saints then started to line the streets as Pres. Hinckley's funeral came to a close. There was a silence and a spirit there that was strong and sweet. There was not a dry eye.

We had not expected to see anything just maybe be there, then to our surprise, out came the funeral procession for Pres. Hinckley right in front of us. The saints all waved farewell, it was such an amazing experience to be there! We were so fortunate to have been there.

After President Hinckley passed, in each one of these cars was the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and then The Seventy. They drove slow and looked out over the saints as we were all waving. We were so close that you could see the emotion of the brethren as they drove by to see the saints lining the streets to say farewell to the Prophet. They also did not have a dry eye. We saw Elder Holland, Elder Bednar, and Pres. Eyring especially close.
